Good things to know.
How does DreamJournal work?
Open the app, tap once, and speak. When you surface from a dream, describe it out loud for a minute or so. DreamJournal transcribes it, files it away, and — if you like — offers an interpretation. A few seconds, all on your phone.
Is it really private?
Yes. Transcription and analysis both run entirely on your iPhone. Your recordings and dreams are never uploaded to us — there is no account, and no DreamJournal server that ever sees your journal.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Because everything happens on the device, you can capture and revisit dreams with no connection at all. Optional iCloud sync uses your own iCloud whenever you're back online.
Is DreamJournal only on iPhone?
For now, yes — it is built specifically for iPhone and iOS. That focus is what lets it lean on Apple's on-device speech and privacy features rather than a server of our own.
Can I export or delete my dreams?
Anytime. Export your whole journal as JSON, text, or audio, or delete individual dreams — or all of them — in a tap. Your journal is always yours to take or erase.
What does it cost, and how does the trial work?
The app is free to download and free to use for seven days, with no payment details required. After the trial, a subscription is €2 per week or €24.99 per year. Reading, exporting, and syncing stay free — only creating new entries needs a subscription once the trial ends.
What languages can I speak?
Because DreamJournal transcribes with your iPhone's on-device speech recognition, you can speak in the languages your device already supports for dictation. The app itself is available in English and German.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. DreamJournal works the moment you open it, and your journal lives on your device.
